3/4 cup sugar
3 Tbs. cornstarch
1 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
2 Tbs. lemon zest
1/2 cup fresh lemon
juice
1 tsp. lemon paste
extract, optional
1/4 tsp. table salt

Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan, whisking to blend.
