Creamed Kale

With its earthy flavor and sturdy texture, kale gives the classic creamed spinach a modern, nutritious, and delicious update.

 Simmer cream until reduced to 1 1/2 cups. Add garlic, chile flakes, 1/2 the onion, salt and pepper and simmer 15 minutes.

Sauté the remaining onion.

Add kale, a handful at a time,  stirring to wilt after each addition. Cover and  cook for 10 minutes.

Add cooked kale in batches to cream, squeezing out as much excess water as possible. Stir; season with salt and pepper.
