Creamy Lemon Goat Cheese in Dukkah
This is a super easy, but really flavorful goat cheese appetizer—and it can be made up to a week ahead. The key here is the dukkah, a blend of nuts, seeds and spices that has a warm complex and rich flavor. Look for this Middle Eastern spice blend in specialty stores or online.

- 8 oz. soft goat cheese
- 8 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1 Tbs. finely grated lemon zest
- 1 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- ¾ cup dukkah spice blend
- Extra-virgin olive oil for serving
Place the goat cheese, cream cheese, lemon zest and juice, and salt and pepper in a small food processor and pulse to blend. Alternatively, cream the ingredients together in a bowl with a rubber spatula until blended.
Sprinkle the dukkah on a plate. Coat your hands with a little olive oil and roll the cheese mixture into small balls, using about 1 heaping tablespoon for each. Roll the balls in the dukkah spice. Arrange on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Serve the cheese balls with crisp flatbread crackers and olive oil for drizzling.
